Kate Rossi, a 25-year veteran of the real estate industry, was appointed president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester, N.Y., in February 2007. She is responsible for overseeing more than 240 employees and 2,400 sales associates in 55 offices.

Prior to this appointment, Rossi served as president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage on Long Island and Queens since September 2004. Prior to joining Long Island's prominent residential real estate brokerage, Rossi held many executive positions at NRT. In 2000, she was appointed president for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Colorado, taking the company to the number one position in the market within four years. Prior to that, she served as regional vice president of Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Inc., in Pittsburgh.

Rossi started her real estate career in 1982 with the Vanguard Tarquinio agency in Beaver County, Pa., where she was one of the company's top sales associates for four years. She joined Coldwell Banker in December 1984 when the national real estate company purchased the Vanguard Tarquinio and Vanguard Hosack agencies.

Rossi earned Realtor of the Year honors in 1985 and was named manager of the Coldwell Banker Beaver County office that same year. In 1986, she was appointed manager of the Coldwell Banker North Hills office. Under Rossi's guidance, the North Hills office held the top spot among all Pittsburgh real estate offices for 12 years, growing from 19 sales people to 120 sales associates. She accepted the position of regional vice president of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage of Pittsburgh in January 1999.

Rossi served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors from 1994 through 2000 and was an active member of the Women's Council in Pennsylvania and Colorado. In 2006, Kate had the distinct honor of being the first woman to be named Chairperson of the Advisory Council for the Cartus Broker Network.

Rossi has served as an elected participant for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and as a major sponsor for the Race for the Cure. She served on the Board of Directors for the Central City Opera in Colorado from 2002 through 2004, and was a major fundraiser for the Central City Kids Les Spirit Noel Scholarship program. Rossi is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Ward Melville Heritage Organization in Stony Brook, N.Y. In 2005, she was named one of the Top 50 Women in Business by the Long Island Business News.

She is an accomplished classical pianist, avid gardener and enjoys golf. Rossi is a graduate of Virginia Intermont.
